YUKON TERRITORY

It’s not a secret that I love the Yukon Territory. I think it is one of the most under rated places in the world. Secretly, I hope it keeps being a hidden gem, and continues to be as wild as it is, because in there I can really connect with nature, we don’t need to fight any crowds, roads are very empty, and nature beauty and wildlife are abundant.

We arrived in the Yukon on the last week of September, and when we were about to land in the Whitehorse airport I started seeing those yellow colors peppered among the pine trees. I couldn’t contain my excitement, I was about to witnesses fall in the Yukon!

On top of all of that this place is a northern lights heaven!

On the first day we arrived in the Yukon we were gifted with an incredible Aurora, and it was just the beginning of an epic trip.

I’ll leave the playlist below, so you can see it for yourself and say if this is not the most beautiful place on Earth!

SALMON GLACIER

On the summer 2023 we decided to go on a crazy trip. I say crazy because the place we wanted to photograph was 1500Km away, therefore we needed to drive 3000Km round trip. And on top of that we only had 4 days available to travel.

We decided to go even though we didn’t have much time because the place is incredible and it would worth the effort.

We left Vancouver on a Thursday morning, drove the whole day until Vanderhoof, BC (close to Prince George) then the next day we headed to our final destination: Salmon Glacier!

Salmon Glacier is a huge glacier located in northwest British Columbia, though many people think it’s in Alaska, it’s located in British Columbia, Canada. The confusion happens because you need to cross to Hyder, Alaska to access the road that leads to the Glacier, but after a few miles we are back to Canada.

Well, if you want to check if it was worth the drive you need to watch the two videos we shot at this place. It’s just an insane place that I can even describe.

SECRET BEACH AND NATURAL BRIDGE - OREGON COAST

On this video we went to one of the not so hidden gems of the Oregon Coast, Secret Beach. It’s fairly easy to find the trail head that leads to the beach, we missed the right turn in the beginning of the trail and after getting nowhere we realized we were ate the wrong trail, thanks to All Trails app we got back on track and 20 min later we found Secret Beach.

It was an overcast day, but the place is so beautiful that in any conditions there will be great photo opportunities.

We also visited Natural Bridge. I always saw stunning photos of this place, but getting in there I realized the best views were not from the viewing platform. To get those shots you’d have to hike on a trail that was said to be very sketchy and dangerous, so I chose not to.

The next day we had a gorgeous sunny day so we decided to go back to Bandon, so we could try to catch that epic sunset with the sea stacks. On the way to Bandon we stopped at many other beautiful places that blew my mind! The needle stack and Two Sisters were the places I enjoyed the most.

Then we finally got the perfect sunset at Bandon! It was a really happy day, make sure you check the full video to see these gorgeous places!

BANDON - OREGON

Second part of our trip along the Oregon Coast was as amazing as the first leg!

We had an ATV adventure, and we also had a blast at Bandon, which is paradise for landscape photographers with those numerous rock formations. We stayed hours there trying many compositions and shooting long exposures.

CANNON BEACH

When I lived in Brazil I never heard much about the Oregon Coast only when I moved to Vancouver I started seeing photos from there and I quickly realized it was an awesome place to photograph.

In 2019 we started planning a trip for 2020. Well, you know what happened on that year so the trip didn’t happen but we finally made it happen 3 years later!

We decided to stick to the coast, although Oregon has many other beautiful landscapes to shoot such as mountains and waterfalls.

The highlight of the first part of our trip was hands down Cannon Beach. This beach live up to the hype, it’s pure magic! The light is perfect, the haystack is perfect and on the top of all of that there are the cute puffins you can see in the summer months.
